We are so excited to share a wild and crazy coffee from a producer who you probably don’t even know you know! Ben is the Founder of Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, the Social Group that we source all of our Nicaraguan coffee from and this micro-lot came from his flagship farm; Finca Idealista. He fermented this lot for 124.5 hours with a watermelon maceration (yes, real watermelon!) and it has packed a serious punch with huge flavor. We tasted this coffee a few months ago on a cupping table of over 50 coffees at Gold Mountain’s DC office and knew we just had to roast some. In addition to taking this coffee to the DC Coffee Festival, we’re also submitting it to the Golden Bean roasting competition!
