Aeropress

Brew Guide: Aeropress (Inverted & Espresso)

Aeropress (Inverted)

  1. Weigh out 14g of coffee and grind medium/fine.
  2. Insert a paper filter into the AeroPress's detachable plastic cap. Use some of your hot water to wet your filter and cap. This will help the filter adhere to the cap and heat your brewing vessel. Hold the cap by its “ears” and pour the water very slowly so it can be absorbed by the filter.
  3. Assemble your AeroPress and place it on your scale with the flared end up. The numbers should appear upside-down on your brewer.
  4. Add your coffee, tare your scale, start your timer, and add around 45g of water.
  5. Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds.
  6. Begin pouring the remaining 220g of water into your brewer. Be sure to evenly saturate the grounds as you are pouring. You should be finished pouring by 1 minute.
  7. At 1:45 stir the coffee and screw in the AeroPress filter/ cap.
  8. At 2 minutes invert the press and place it on your brewing vessel.
  9. Apply even pressure to the AeroPress plunger and press the coffee out of the brewer into your brewing vessel. Enjoy!
